I would say it is good to use the latest stable (2.8.3) It include several fixes specially for windows agent.
Regarding the checksum I think you need to install the GPG key of the yum repo. Then you can verify installed packages with rpm -vK option. See example below: [root@vpc-agent-centos ~]# rpm -vK /var/cache/yum/x86_64/6/ossec/packages/ossec-hids-agent-2.8.3-1.el6.x86_64.rpm We do maintain our OSSEC installers here, in case that helps: http://ossec.wazuh.com/ In any case you should also be able to download them at http://ossec.github.io/downloads.html (I didn't get any forbidden message) Hope that helps On Tue, Dec 1, 2015 at 11:34 AM, sandeep ganti <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > Can anyone send me the proper link for downloading the 2.8.3 version with > the checksum files to ensure the source files are not corrupted. > > I even tried using the YUM packages but i am getting the Forbidden > messages. > > The below link doesn't have the checksum files. > > http://ossec.github.io/downloads.html > > Also can you suggest if it is a good idea to work on the 2.8.3 or go back > and install 2.8.2. > > -- > > --- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "ossec-list" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to [email protected]. > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. > -- --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ossec-list" group.
