"On Saturday afternoon, he displayed a number of the confiscated
items: a gun, throwing knives, a bow and arrows, flammable liquids,
paint, slingshots, rocks and buckets of urine." Oh, how nice..

""We know these things were going to be used as weapons," Fletcher
said, a charge protesters and their advocates vigorously disputed.
Fletcher however, stressed that he and other agencies had informants
planted inside this and other groups for "a long period of time.""

SO.. The authorities had inside knowledge that the gun, the throwing
knives, the bows and other deadly weapons were intended to be used or
words to that effect had been said (intent and more than one person
being the thing that makes it a "conspiracy")

I don't give a rats ass if some zombie hippies want to make asses of
themselves. It's America, knock yourself out.

OTOH, if said zombies are intending to use deadly weapons as part of
their "protest" then a preemptive raid is *exactly* what is called for.

A peaceful protest does not require a gun and throwing knives and I
don't want some untrained hippy getting blown away for waving gun.

I've seen the paper work involved and I wouldn't wish that on any
peace officer.[1]

[1] yes.. that is .75 tongue in cheek..
