I have a bunch of DVDs with cartoons on them (like 20-30 on each disc)
that I want to rip. I've already ripped the discs to the hard drive,
so I have a bunch of folders with 4.5-8GB of VIDEO_TS each and a
pissload of tracks. So far it's about 100GB of files. and I want to
get them into iPhone/iPod Touch compatible h.264 files.
I tried throwing the folders at VisualHub, but that did not work at
all as it came up and asked for the language track to use for every
single title, but not until after it had processed the previous one.
This meant this became very much an 'attended' process. Also, VH names
every track "VIDEO_TS.mp4" so I have to move the track aside before
the next track is done or it gets overwritten!
Also, some of the discs have a "Play All" title. If they do, this is
the only title Visual Hub encodes so I end up with a 2 hour movie file
that has 20-some cartoons in it.
I also tried Handbreak, but recently (despite trashing prefs and
reinstalling) HandBrake simply stops working. It looks like it is
working. It starts up, says it is encoding, and then does nothing
else, ever. No progress bar moving, no 'not responding' it just
doesn't do anything.
What I'd really like is to be able to point something at this folder
structure and have it go to town:
Cartoons
Disc 1
VIDEO_TS
AUDIO_TS
Disc 2
VIDEO_TS
AUDIO_TS
...
DISC 14
VIDEO_TS
AUDIO_TS
