I found receipts for the 750 and the 500 --
bought in June and Dec of 2007

and neither has had much use other than manual backups on occasion

i use TimeCapsule for regular backups for my Dual Quad

btw: I bought two WD 1 Terabyte drives for 105 bucks a pop (USB) only -
I am hanging one of them off the TimeCapsule for backing up my wife's  
iMac 24 and my MBPro 17

we get constant failures with Time Machine backing up to the WD
don't know if it's due to the WD being so slow , or TM software or what
