Except the Bushies didn't commit treason against the constitution and  
American values. The worst you can say about them is they led a  
popular rebellion against the constitution and American values that  
was successful for awhile. Not only did everybody know the broad  
outlines of what was going on, Congress legitimized it by passing the  
Military Commissions Act.

Let's be clear. When they introduced the Military Commissions Act the  
Bush administration more or less dared the Dems to take a stand  
against torture and expose themselves to accusations that they were  
'soft on terrorism'. And the Dems folded because they could read  
opinion polls and knew that this wouldn't be smart politically.

To try to pretend that the people close to Bush did something in  
secret that the American people would have rejected if they had only  
known is the worst kind of revisionism.
