Except the Bushies didn't commit treason against the constitution and American values. The worst you can say about them is they led a popular rebellion against the constitution and American values that was successful for awhile. Not only did everybody know the broad outlines of what was going on, Congress legitimized it by passing the Military Commissions Act. Let's be clear. When they introduced the Military Commissions Act the Bush administration more or less dared the Dems to take a stand against torture and expose themselves to accusations that they were 'soft on terrorism'. And the Dems folded because they could read opinion polls and knew that this wouldn't be smart politically. To try to pretend that the people close to Bush did something in secret that the American people would have rejected if they had only known is the worst kind of revisionism. -- In America, anybody can be president. That's one of the risks you take. -Adlai Stevenson, statesman (1900-1965) _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
