I'd try dd or dd_rescue to get an image to work on later.  I think
dd_rescue at least has options to give up trying to read a block after
a certain amount of time and fill in the gaps with zeros.

Though, if you've struck out with the utilities you mentioned, I'd lay
your chances at slim for recovering anything.
