So do klan members have a special obligation to protect black folks? Do religious fundies have a special obligation to gays? I think we all get the part where some people have an affirmative obligation to protect because they have undertaken roles which require that of them. It would be a crime for them to stand by passively and let harm come to the child. When they are the actual agents of harm they are doubly guilty.
