Anyone have any ideas? debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey,keyboard-interactive debug1: Next authentication method: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/kreme/.ssh/identity debug1: Offering public key: /Users/kreme/.ssh/id_rsa debug2: we sent a publickey packet, wait for reply debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 149 debug2: input_userauth_pk_ok: fp d7:8d:4f:e3:9b:e8:3c:4d:17:2f:86:20:7a:a5:d2:a4 debug1: read PEM private key done: type RSA debug1: Enabling compression at level 6. debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug2: channel 0: send open debug1: Entering interactive session. debug2: callback start debug2: x11_get_proto: /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth -f /tmp/ssh-8tKNcTnxDu/xauthfile generate /tmp/launch-twHlpz/:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 untrusted timeout 1200 2>/dev/null
it looks to me like the key-exchange worked and I should have a bash prompt on the remote machine, but I don't. I just have a cursor sitting there and no prompt and nothing happens when I press any key. the odd thing is connecting to another machine on the same network gives me: debug2: we did not send a packet, disable method debug1: Next authentication method: keyboard-interactive debug2: userauth_kbdint debug2: we sent a keyboard-interactive packet, wait for reply debug2: input_userauth_info_req debug2: input_userauth_info_req: num_prompts 1 Password: debug2: input_userauth_info_req debug2: input_userauth_info_req: num_prompts 0 debug1: Enabling compression at level 6. debug1: Authentication succeeded (keyboard-interactive). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug2: channel 0: send open debug1: Requesting [email protected] debug1: Entering interactive session. debug2: callback start debug2: x11_get_proto: /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth -f /tmp/ssh-JVzF4G8dQx/xauthfile generate /tmp/launch-twHlpz/:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 untrusted timeout 1200 2>/dev/null and the same exact behavior, the cursor just sits there after the login. X11 is not in use on either machine and I am expecting (and normally get) a bash prompt. It was working earlier today on both machines. Hmm… in fact, the same thing is happening with all three remote servers, including one that hasn't been logged into in several days (that is to say, it's config culled not possibly have changed). web pages and email load fine, as does rsync. It's just SSH -- This is our music from the bachelor's den, the sound of loneliness turned up to ten. A harsh soundtrack from a stagnant waterbed and it sounds just like this. This is the sound of someone losing the plot making out that they're OK when they're not. You're gonna like it, but not a lot. And the chorus goes like this... _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
