Hi Ted, the development version of OTB integrates a new version of the optical calibration application which allows to set manually all the parameters need for the calibration. So despite the sensor is not supported you can complete now the preprocessing if you can provide those parameters (GeoEye is a good example but it is also true for LandSat for instance).
To convert you need absolute gain and bias which should be available in the metadata. For atmospheric corrections you'll need to provide relative spectral response for the sensor. I never find this information for GeoEye.
