As an educational project, mostly for fun, I am receiving NOAA POES
satellite images (the low
resolution ones transmitted around 137 MHz). Since I have orbital
parameters and I know the time
at which the image was acquired, I assume it is possible to georeference
the resulting image to
afterward overlay various layers (eg country boudaries or receiver
location). Indeed a proprietary
software such as wxtoimg does just that. I don't think QGis by itself can
perform such a task,
but since OTB is available as a plugin to QGis, I assume it would be
possible to load the image in
QGis, provide orbital parameters to OTB for georeferencing the image, and
then adding the layers
I am interested in.
Hence my question: is OTB able to process such satellite datasets ?
Provided TLE orbital parameters
provided by Celestrak (eg
http://www.celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/noaa.txt), is it possible to run
a processing chain from OTB to convert my image to a geoereferenced dataset
?

Thank you, Jean-Michel
