Thank you for your answer. Yes indeed, I use the SIFT algo.
I will give a try at the SURF one then. I remember that I add some
issues with it, years ago, and never gave it a second chance, as the
SIFT implementation seemed more robust. So let's try it.

the siftfast library). Can you confirm that the issue appears on your
side with sift? Can you reproduce it using SURF?

any time during the process, quite rarely, and when it occurs,
launching the exact same command again does not reproduce the error,
but leads to a good result.
I am running OTB 4.2.0 on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS.
