For instance, ITK version must be higher than 4.6 and Opencv should be always 2.X Stick to latest stable release of most of dependencies. Expect opencv which must be 2.X version. We have a nightly submission of OTB with Ubuntu 14.04 and 12.04, Fedora which uses libraries via package manager. FYI, you can use superbuild which takes care of all dependencies in the correct version.
