Hi, The RefineSensorModel uses a set of ground control points to refine an OSSIM sensor model. The optimization depends on the type of sensor model you want to refine.
If the OSSIM model used derives from ossimSensorModel, the problem is solved using Levenberg-Marquardt non-linear optimization (http://trac.osgeo.org/ossim/doxygen/classossimSensorModel.html#aef7bcb9720bd2799f2f2aee431e098b0). As a fallback solution, if the model dereives from ossimRpcModel, the problem is solved using a linear least square method (see http://trac.osgeo.org/ossim/doxygen/classossimRpcSolver.html#_details) I am not sure of the mode used for adjustment, but it looks like a rigid transform (translation & rotation) + anisotropic scaling (I need to check the order).
