basically the difference is the way that the segmentation is performed.
otbcli_Segmentation -filter meanshift performs the segmentation on tiles
and allow to reconnect regions on frontier as a post-processing (same
methodology for meanshift and other segmentation algorithms in the
application). This post-processing does not guearrantee to remove all
tiles artefact's.
The LSMS suite of applications handle the specific case of the mean
shift algorithm and allow to perform tile-wise segmentation of very
large image with theoretical guarantees of getting identical results to
those without tiling.
