Hi Thayse and Sai,

LSMS step 2 needs to write some temporary data to the disk. There is an option for that : "Directory where to write temporary files". If not set, then the temporary files are written in the app execution folder (I do not know where it is since it is qgis running the application). Most likely you do not have permission to write there.

Can you try specifying a different folder here ? Something like D:\TMP\ (directory should exist).

Note : this is not an OTB issue, it is a Qgis (using OTB) issue. You may want to report the problem to the qgis project.

Regards,

Julien

Hi,

Unfortunately, I couldn't use the Orfeo toolbox in Windows system. I tried for 2 weeks and I couldn't understand why I got this error. I had to install Linux on my notebook and then OTB worked really well. I did all 4 steps of LSMS in QGIS using OTB. It was really annoying trying to use LSMS and don't find a reason why it didn't work in Windows.

    Hi!
I recently started using OTB in QGIS 2.14 which has got otb in
it's installation package along with GDAL and other libraries as
    shown in Thyse's question.
I could execute step 1 but failing to execute step 2...
I want to use LSMSSegmentation library. I succeeded in executing
step 1 in Image Filtering section.

Error !!! But step 2 is not executed well

        Hi Michael,

        thank you for your support.
It still doen't work on my pc with Windows. However,
I installed a virtualbox and with Linux Mint the LSMS works
        well in QGis.

        Best

            Hi all,

I have been trying to do an object based classification
using QGis + Orfeo Toolbox. I downloaded the Q Gis 2.8.2
and OTB from OSGeo4W Network Installer. I am using OS
            Windows 7 enterprise (64 bit).

When I apply the Step 1: Mean Shift Filtering (Exact Large
Scale Mean Shift segmentation, step 1) in QGis I got the
            following error:

/The following layers were not correctly generated. •
Filtered output • Spatial image. //You can check the
log messages to find more information about the
                execution of the algorithm./

I have tested other OTB functions and unfortunately I got
the same error for the other functions as well. I can see
the OTB on my QGIS Processing toolbox. It seems that OTB
            is not properly installed.

Additionally, I have looked at QGIS - Processing - Option
and I observed that no folder is connected to GEOID file
and SRTM folder under Orfeo (See the figure below) Should
I set any path/directory to GEOID and SRTM?
