Hi Conrad, This is the BI used for SPOT1-3 where only 3 bands were available on board. I don't know of any reference for this, but if you really need to cite something, just look for old papers (before 1995) using SPOT images. The name IB2 was used because IB was used for the version which does not use the NIR.
