Hi,
Then I think you are facing a known issue with remote desktop
environments (https://bugs.orfeo-toolbox.org/view.php?id=1278). We
have a fix ready, but it has not been integrated for release 5.8
If monteverdi works fine with your Ubuntu 14.04 VM, it could be
that the configuration of the graphics driver is different in
VMWare. Maybe something to dig.
