Hi,

Sorry for coming late to the discussion.

I understand the problem of the complexity of adding indices to the
current application. On the other hand, code duplication and modularity
have to be taken into account.

Some of the indices which are proposed in [1] are not specific to S2.
Actually, as I understand it, the only novelty of most of them is the
use of the red edge bands, which are also present on other sensors (for
instance RapidEye, WorldView, Venus if I am not mistaken). Other indices
could also be useful for Landsat, I guess.

The current RadiometricIndices application already proposes indices
which can't be computed with some sensors. It could also provide the new
ones.

Maybe this is a good opportunity to refactor the current application to
make it more user friendly?

I have mixed feelings about the S2 bands resampling inside the
application. This is something which can be done by pipelining in memory
existing applications (both as a python script or as a composite
application).

I think a good approach would be:

1. Implement the indices as functors/functions which work on pixel values
2. Add them to the current application (maybe with some refactoring of the app)
3. Build a composite S2-only application which integrates the meta-data
reading and the band resampling.

What do you think?

Jordi
