accessible playgrounds

Hi, I am beginning my thesis work and have chosen to modify an existing public park to include a playground that is accessible to physically challenged children.  I have found some equipment and am pursuing grant sources and private funding as well as a formal needs assessment survey.  Does anyone have any experience or resources that they would share?  Any input is greatly appreciated.  Thanks a lot, Ginger
