Hello: I just returned from a support group and one of the members was talking about her daughter's recent car accident. The daughter just returned home and is receiving home PT and OT. The daughter is NWB in her UE and LE secondary to orthopedic issues. The group member said that the OT was not going to see the daughter because she only had a limited amount of visits and there is much that OT can do until the daughter is able to move her arm more.
As if this isn't bad enough, the group member continues on with how the family has had to figure out how the daughter is going to bath and have devised an ingenious way to get into the shower. (The husband lifts her). The daughter is nearly bed bound because the home is inaccessible and there is little the daughter can do. I got to tell you, these kind of stories kill me. How did OT EVER become so concerned about someone's arm rather than their occupations!!!
