To all:
It seems that everyone has a strong opinion about
what is wrong with the OT and each of us has our own definition of the
profession. All I have heard about for the last two weeks is everyone's
opinion of Ron, so what? We all are entitled to our opinions! My complaint
is, how many of us can actually do something about it? Or help the community
better understand our profession? You can complain all day but unless you
do something about it you are just putting the blame onto someone else.
Even if it just writing a letter to a congressman or participating in your
community.
In OT school my professors challenged all of us to
come up with our own definition of OT, the key was we could not include
anything about PT or SLP. I realized I always explained OT by starting out
saying "It is like PT, but...". (Just something to think
about)
