I think the patients in the long run will receive less therapy... insurance 
will pay one person saying that they only need one person/discipline 
especially if it is becoming a trend for therapist to get both degrees.  Also 
patients will benefit from different tx approaches from different individuals 
(PT/PTA/OTR/COTA).  I would love to have more background knowledge like a PT 
education but feel I can get what I need from continuing education instead of 
a whole separate degree... I am an OT at heart!!
