Hi David! I'd like you to know that I'm actually relieved you brought this up. I think I'm one of those who might at times have replicated information by answering to very open-ended questions - sometimes simply by doing internet searches and then providing links - as questions like "I can't seem to find much information about X?" often triggers my curiousity, and I guess I want to try and prove them wrong (-:
I also noticed that I tired out doing this, as it didn't seem to make much difference - and that I actually have stopped posting. Seeing your request for more specific questions and listings of what information one already had, I had a lightbulb moment - so just want to say thank you!! Best wishes! susanne, denmark ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lehman, David" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2003 8:03 PM Subject: RE: [OTlist] teaching module Danielle. I appreciate your feelings about my response, and perhaps you are misinterpreting my feelings and intentions. I, too, believe that a listserve is a tool for interacting with the professional community and to share experiences. I also feel it is appropriate for students to use the list serve to acquire information for projects, etc.. I also promote with my students the use of list serves when doing projects. I just feel that it is important for the inquirer to show what they do know from their work so that others do not replicate information. Also, as an educator, it is my role to make sure the student is an active learner and I feel that using a list serve to ask blanket questions do not indicate such. I am sorry if I brewed up a sticky point that has resulted in you choosing to be defensive. This is learning at its best! Respectfully, David A.
