Good Morning, Well, again we have more in the long succession of bills designed to finally repeal the caps on occupational therapy services provided by Medicare. The new bills were introduced 2/17/2005 and are designated HR 916 and S.438. You can view information about the house bill at: http://www.house.gov/apps/list/press/pa03_english/therqapcycap.html
Information about the Senate bill has not been published yet, however I would assume it mirrors the house legislation. This is the time to write your Representative and Senators. Remember the cap on occupational therapy services by Medicare will return in 2006 if nothing is done. Let them know what you think! They do care when the information is coming from registered voters in the districts or states they represent. You can find and write to your Representative by visiting: www.house.gov You can do the same for your Senators by visiting: www.senate.gov AOTA has a web based solution for contacting your Congress people: http://capwiz.com/aota/home/ As soon as they post summaries of the bills on Thomas, I will post it on the list.
