Hi all
Just to let you know that I sympathise from across the pond! The last
time that an OT was portrayed on British TV it was on one of our most
popular soap operas - Coronation Street. In this case the OT started
out as a physio and morphed into a community OT. He appeared to do
nothing that vaguely resembled OT, with his moment of glory being when
he ran off with his patient's wife! On a serious note though, it is
rather demoralising when your profession is misrepresented and nobody
seems to understand what you do. I'm sure the only way forward is to
grasp every opportunity to educate others about our role. I thought
Carolyn Baum's letter to NBC was excellent and look forward to seeing
the reply!
all good wishes
Claire

I was able to link onto the site without any difficult. I find it
difficult to express exactly how I feel about the manner in which OT has
been portraid and need time to digest it... (these people obviously had
very little insight into OT as a profession and need a thorough
education!).
Thought the letter written by AOTA made a good start though!!!
