Hello:

I am doing lymphedema management on a patient's left LE. I am using
lymphedema massage and compression bandaging. The left leg is responding
well and has both circumferential decrease as well as a more patent skin
feel. However, her right leg has increased swelling. I THINK that I have
read that during lymphedema treatment, contralateral swelling may happen
but I can't find the reference.

Can anyone comment on the occurrence of contralateral swelling during
lymphedema treatment?

Thanks,

Ron C.
