Today at wal-mart, the checkout person says, "What kind of therapy do you do"? As I finished explaining OT (for the 1 billionth time in my life), the person said that she had just graduated from massage school. Said, that someone just graduating has never heard of OT!!!
On a more positive note... I administered my very first Allen screen today!! I am trying to determine if my client has the capacity to learn how to do his own lymphedema wrapping. He scored 4.2 on the assessment. I need to look up the score in the book but it doesn't seem promising. It was so funny because the client (a man) started out laughing about doing the simple lacing but when it got time to do the cordovan stitch, he was very serious and intent on learning the stitch.!!!
