Subject: [OTlist] Second Wind Dream?

In my local paper is some information on a project called "Second Wind
Dreams". I've never heard of of it but think it sounds pretty neat. So,
I thought I would share:

quote> Fulfilling dreams of seniors, ... living in nursing homes was
quote> the brainchild of P.K. Beville, a psychologist who founded
quote> Second Wind Dreams in Alpharetta, Ga., in 1997. The organization
quote> now has teams in 40 states, Canada and India.

quote> Beville said she found that in her 22 years experience working
quote> in nursing homes, many seniors had surprisingly simple dreams
quote> they hoped to fulfill in the sunset of their lives. They most
quote> commonly want to do something fun again such as play in a jazz
quote> band, ride a camel or become a TV weather forecaster for an
quote> hour.

quote> "We, as a society, have told them not to do that," Beville said.
quote> "We've told them, 'You're old. You shouldn't want to go up in a
quote> hot air balloon."
