There is so much involved with the caps, I just don't see how it will be successful. How will WE know how close patients are to their caps? Do we just stop seeing patients because they've reached there caps? Doing so doesn't seem ethical but how many patients can afford therapy and how many therapy companies can afford to see patients for 'free'?
AOTA's web site say's that compromise package is a great victory. I think it stinks! It's better than the alternative but I don't see it as a great victory. Now, if the caps were totally repealed, THAT would be a great victory!! AOTA> In a great victory for AOTA and consumers, the compromise bill, AOTA> produced by a conference between Republican leaders in the Senate AOTA> and House, provides for an interim cap solution that allows AOTA> patients to apply to receive medically necessary care beyond the AOTA> cap level. Oh yeah, let's not forget that there's a 4% cut in Medicare payments this coming year. Of course, the cut was needed so that Congress could vote themselves a pay raise. Not that the two are related but the whole situation just kind of stinks.... Just curious, did anyone write their Senators/Reps?
