Hello Eveyone: Recently Joan mentioned that we might want to discuss the characteristics of patients who right for OT. I think this is an interesting topic and may be worthy of discussion, so I'll try and start it off.
>From my experience and in my opinion, the person most 'right' for OT is the person whose focus is not on their impairment, but on their disability or handicap. Occasionally, I run across patients like this and they are a true occupational joy to work with. But, these types of patients/referrals are few and far between. I think that if there existed in this country a network of healthcare providers whose primary focus was improving patients occupation, then OT would have a great role. But for now, most of us don't work in such a model but there are exceptions, I'm sure. Ron -- Unsubscribe?
