Members of the list: Occupational therapy is actually mentioned in newspapers more than you might think.
This can be illustrated through a quick search through Google news for the phrase "occupational therapy" http://news.google.com/news?svnum=10&hl=en&ned=us&ie=UTF-8&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=&as_mind=3&as_minm=1&as_maxd=2&as_maxm=1&q=%22occupational+therapy%22&scoring=d APTA has a PR department, as does AOTA. Both association work to get media placements to promote the profession. Here is a recent placement from the AOTA website: http://www.aota.org/nonmembers/area1/index.asp Home Mods Featured in Wall Street Journal (Dec. 11)*The Wall Street Journal has published an article focusing on home modifications and aging in place. The AOTA Public Affairs office facilitated interviews with AOTA President Dr. Carolyn Baum for the story and provided extensive background materials. The interview ran in the Monday, December 11, 2006 edition in a section called "Encore," on page R8. The article is available at any public library or at WSJ.com, for newspaper subscribers. http://online.wsj.com/article_print/SB116544561090742742.html (link works for me and I'm not a subscriber) Chuck Willmarth Director, State Affairs AOTA >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1/2/2007 1:00 PM >>> Hello B. Sullivan: I appreciate your message. But I am curious as to why you think the advice should come from AOTA instead of APTA? CS> The APTA offers the following advice: CS> Keep wrists straight. Don't let them bend downward when holding a game controller. CS> Practice good posture while playing. Sit in a chair that CS> provides solid back support and keep your feet comfortably on the CS> floor. CS> Stretch and move.
