Today, I talked with my friend who fractured her hip and had a partial
replacement. She just started rehab yesterday.

She confirmed that was getting OT and when I asked her about what they
were doing, she raised her arms up in the air (i.e. UE exercises). I
then asked her what she thought about the therapy.

She said one word - "useless!"

I told her to tell the OT what she thought of the therapy.

Just to reiterate, I share these stories to provide examples of HOW
and WHY our profession needs to do things differently. None of us
always do our therapy the way it SHOULD be, but time and time again, I
hear horror stories about how OT is a waste of patient's time. But it
doesn't need to be that way.
