Hello All: The most recent edition of "Rehab Management" has an article by Ann Carlson titled: "An Ounce of Prevention". Generally, it's about PT's providing more than just physical intervention for older adults. I was a little put off at the exclusivity of the article, especially given that the magazine is touted as interdisciplinary.
Even though I thought it was a waste of time, I drafted a quick e-mail to the editor as follows: > From: Ron Carson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2007 08:42:14 -0400 > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Ann Carlson's Article > > Given that Rehab Management is an interdisciplinary magazine, I am very > disappointed in the lack of inclusion in Ann Carlson's recent article, > "An Ounce of Prevention". > > Clearly, the need to provide "physical and emotional support to sustain > functional independence in older adults" is applicable to all rehab > disciplines, not just PT's. > > Respectfully, > > Ron Carson > > -- > Ron Carson MHS, OTR/L > Hope Therapy Services, LLC [cut] Well, much to my surprise, I received the following response: > Duly noted. I am sorry for the oversight, and will be more diligent > in emphasizing the full-spectrum viewpoint accepting articles. > Thanks for your input. > Rogena Silverman > * * * * * > Rogena Schuyler Silverman, editor > Rehab Management (www.rehabpub.com) > ~~The Interdisciplinary Journal of Rehabilitation* So, you just never know when your voice will be heard!
