Like Oliver Sacks on neurology and Bryan Sykes on genetics Norman Doidge has written a popular page turner book that puts the complicated and technical subject of neuroplasticity in personal terms. It's a very hot seller and the hard copy price is being deeply discounted as I have just discovered is usual before the paperback comes out. After reading it from the library I got mine for just over $20 and there are lower prices on the net. Neuroplasticity has been on the periphery of my awareness for a long time. Why wasn't I paying attention? This morning I entered it into a search engine for the first time. There is a lot of commercialisation going on - a lot of hype - lots of improve your brain programs and how to recover from stroke. I'm glad I had read this over view before I checked out the term.
