Kim,
I have used the more flexible type of splints with neuro clients with good
results while on therapy... NeuroFlex splints paired with neurostretch
technique... After they are discharged from services, the carryover, wearing
time and consistency of technique is not as accurate as I would like It to be.

[email protected]> Subject: [OTlist] DynaPro Finger Flex for CVA use?> > I am
hunting for the best splint for a few of my outpatient CVA patients whom are
getting ready for discharge. After working with this population for the past
year since I graduated, I am realizing that thermoplastic resting hand splints
are not working. Many of these patient's splints I have repaired multiple times
due to breakdown of the splint from high tone fluctuations. Also, I'm hearing
more and more about the need for flexible finger platform resting hand splints
for the neuro population to decrease IP joint damage. I tried the SaeboStretch
with a patient and did not have good luck at all. Now I'm considering trying
the DynaPro Finger Flex but want to make sure it's a good product since the
patient is already stuck paying a restocking fee for the splint I am returning.
Has any used this product and what did they think? The main patient I'm
considering right now has mild tone at rest, increasing moderate to max with
exertion. The DynaPro Finger> Flex description sounds like it would meet my
needs better than a firm, typical resting hand splint. Let me know if anyone
has experience with this product or has a great resting hand splint they find
effective with the neuro population. Thanks!> > Kim Sterken, OTR/L> >
