Most definitely making sense. I would say practicing in the way you describe above borders on being ethically questionable. Unless I as a therapist can clearly and simply state the evidence and clinical experience basis for the interventions I am planning to implement in partnership with my client/patient/brother or sister in therapeutic relationship (or their advocate) , then I am not really providing them with the opportunity to in turn operate in a state of informed consent. To do something to someone without consent or at least attempt to attain a level of shared understanding of what is happening, even if it is in the name of "treatment" or "hospital policy", is effectively to diminish their rights as a fellow human being. just my 2c worth David -- Options? www.otnow.com/mailman/options/otlist_otnow.com Archive? www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
