As a Graphic Artist (with a degree) for many yrs. I kind of burned out...so.... My best friend was a RN and I admired her work but I was not cut out for it so I decided to go into Med. Records. Didn't care for it. People kept telling me to get into the OTA program. As an artist I had alot to give to others through this program!! So I did and I loved it in school, my teachers encouraged me to carry on with this but in the working world, I find it nothing like I thought it would be it. What I wanted to say here is...YES... find the ART in OT again!!! It can be very beneficial and paid for as OT services if organized properly and documented right.TO GET PAID. Or at least your employer. Ha Ha Be it using the head, eyes, ears, taste, trunk, arms, shoulders, hands, wrists, fingers etc. being it with pen to paper, drawing (scribbling), writing, weaving, clay, making a puzzle or frozen cookies or pizza even stringing jewelry as MARY did. You all know what I mean...we are all human and these are ADL's, IADL's Eye and hand coordination, fine motor, cognitive, memory etc. etc. Find and USE ART in OT again!!! Thanks for listening and good luck on those of you paying $$ and getting all those CEU's everyone needs this month in FLORIDA. I live in Michigan now, but I keep up both of my COTA license's. Up here MOTA does NOT require all these 26 CEU's to renew your license. more affordable, but I still have NBCOT renewal 39 CEU Blessing my OT friends
