It's been a while since I've been on this list. I've been working in
the schools for a while but am planning on doing PRN work starting in
the fall. I only worked in SNF for a short while before starting with
the schools so I'm a little nervous. I've read a lot of the back
messages on the site about functional activities. Working PRN it seems
I will only see patients for one or two days. My question is how would
you approach working with the patient, getting to know what is
meaningful to them in such a short time, or what their limitations are?
When I did PRN work before I couldn't ask their OT because I was there
taking their place and just had to go in cold turkey with just their
chart. I really want to work on functional activities from the first
time I see them.
