Chuck, thanks for doing this! And a big thank you to Chris Bluhm for
answering my question and providing a timely reply.

Just so everyone knows, I posted a comment on this topic on my AOTA
blog. I'm glad I did because it put my fears to rest!

Ron

Subj: [OTlist] AOTA Screening Bloggers Comments?

CW> Ron,

CW> Chris Bluhm at AOTA asked me to post this response to your comments
CW> about the missing blog postings.

CW> Chuck Willmarth
CW> Director, State Affairs
CW> AOTA

CW> ************************

CW> Mr. Carson,

CW> AOTA does not filer comments because of a member's perspective or point
CW> of view.
CW> As long as the terms of service are adhered to, which most commonly
CW> prohibit things like profanity or marketing, posts should appear on the
CW> site.
CW>
CW> A couple of weeks ago, national office staff needed to install a new
CW> spam filter because the site has been hit by a series of spam attacks.
CW> The new software uses an algorithm looking at things like, repeated
CW> posts from the same IP address, keywords and other predictive tools and
CW> will hold emails that it deems to have a "high spam score" in the filter
CW> for approval before release.

CW> In investigating your problem, we found one post from last Wednesday
CW> that was caught by the filter and will be "released" today. Your problem
CW> did identify a lapse in our procedures in that e-mails with a
CW> particularly high spam score are now being auto-deleted within two
CW> days, but we were only checking the filter weekly, as had been
CW> appropriate in the past.

CW> We will continue to work on the filter settings and are planning to make
CW> some additional changes to try and have posts that are within OT
CW> Connections "terms of service" flow to the site without being held up by
CW> our security measures.

CW> This is still new platform for us and we continue to work on fixing some
CW> of the "bugs". We ask that anyone who is experiencing difficulty with
CW> OT Connections to just give us a call, toll free at 1-800- 729-2682 and
CW> either ask for Sam Gonzales, or if you can't reach Sam please don't
CW> hesitate to call and ask for me directly.

CW> Subject: [OTlist] AOTA Screening Bloggers Comments?

CW> Hello All:

CW> On two different and recent occasions, my comments on the AOTA
CW> president's blog concerning the recent branding campaign were not
CW> posted. While I have no way of knowing who or even if someone is
CW> censoring my comments, it certainly appears to be the case.

CW> Given that AOTA is member supported organization is it acceptable for
CW> AOTA to censor members' messages, even if they are negative and
CW> non-supporting?

CW> You can read the AOTA President's blog here: http://tinyurl.com/dka9fm

CW> Thanks,

CW> Ron
