Hi, It might be - but if you look at the justification for this, the reason is primarily to safeguard data for 20-30 years. Since the signature algorithm is not used to safeguard information, it's not a problem to use EC until we get QCs - since it's only for signatures, and we still have FS. EC in this usage will only become a problem once QCs arrive and can then be used to do MITM.
