Hello Valdemir,
Some months back, I BEGAN a move to a client's shared hosting account
at Dreamhost from one of their internal Linux machines. My memory is
spotty but I was able to get most of the installation working after
wrestling with the mySQL database setup -- I don't think you'll be
able to use OTRS' web interface(to the db install scripts). I
abandoned the effort to smooth out the installation when the impetus
for the move disappeared.
However, it seems I need to revisit this task and go ahead and get it
working. Have you been successful? It's going to take me a bit to
re-familiarize myself with the issues but I'd be happy to share
anything I learn with you if you're still interested. BTW, a search
on the list reveals a thread around April of this year(2006) where
folks were talking about installing OTRS in a shared host setting. A
quick read through it doesn't seem to reveal any new info other than
one person claiming success and offering to help with other efforts.
He does warn that you'd better do your homework before contacting him
though!
