Changing the top of the perl scripts helped! Thanks! I don't know Perl or Solaris well enough to be able to explain why we had to do this. It's running in a Solaris zone, sort of like a virtual machine or chroot. Basically the zones all share common binaries. Easier administration I guess. So the sysadmins installed a new perl binary compiled with the modules needed.
It sorta works now.
