I use the Apache Config for this:

# Customer Portal deactivated:
RewriteRule /customer.pl /index.pl [R=301,L]
</Location>

this leads to the agent login.
you may also use a <Files> container:
##############
<Files "customer.pl">
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
</Files>
#############
