Hi Jean, SysConfig -> Ticket -> Frontend::Agent::Ticket::ViewCompose
Set "StateDefault" to "closed". If you do this, the default state of a reply is "closed". Users can still select "open", "pending" and other states. If you want to force the state to always be closed with no option to select anything else, you need to delete all entries except "closed" from StateType in the same configuration screen (just below StateDefault). Don't worry about deleting things in SysConfig, you can always revert to the default.
