Hi Sudhir,

Political questions aside, I believe most OTRS installations runs on MySQL with 
no plans to change that. We have deployed three enterprise installations of 
OTRS on MySQL so far, one of them handling 80,000+ tickets a year. They run 
just fine.

I am asking because we don't have choice other than going to Mysql due
to future standardization of the technology rod-map.

OTRS works fine with MySQL, but I would question the wisdom of relying
heavily on MySQL-based infrastructure until Oracle demonstrates whether
it intends to actually continue to invest in it.

It's not trivial to change DB engines mid-flight, and until the other
shoe drops, I consider the risk fairly high that Oracle will not do the
right thing.
