It works for me too. Below the steps exactly used :
1. mysql -u root -p
SET GLOBAL innodb_fast_shutdown = 0
2. sudo service mysql stop
3. sudo su
4. mv /var/lib/mysql/ib_logfile* /tmp
5. vim /etc/mysql/my.cnf
Change lines like below :
innodb_buffer_pool_size = 1024M
innodb_log_file_size = 256M
Save the file
6. sudo service mysql start
PLOBLEM SOLVED !!!

The setting innodb_log_file_size must be at least 256 MB.
