A malicious program affecting Mac OS-X has been detected.
It is disguised as a Microsoft Word 2004 installation file, and
when executed, will permanently delete all files belonging to
the current user.
The properties of this program are:
- Microsoft Word 2004 OSX
- Application
- 108 kb on disk (104,989 bytes)
The trojan does not spread by itself, but is spread by file
sharing mechanisms (eg peer-to-peer, downloads, email
attachments).
Affected software:
Mac OS-X
Software not affected:
Mac OS versions 9 and below
