I have at last got the G3 card going with the new H/D in my trusty 7600.
I now want to share files and I have cross over cables.
What settings do I need in file sharing, do I use file sharing or TCP/IP
and what addresses etc? It all seems to be a mystery to me,duh.
Any answers or help much appreciated, its lonely mac country here.
Its a beige300 and the above 7600 G3300 sonnet. I bought a 8 socket
ethernet hub on ebay, can I use it?

Hey Frank
If you're using the hub, you want to use patch cables, not crossover cables. The crossover is only for a single link between two computers. More than two computers need a hub or a switch, and patch cables - unless one of your computers has more than one network card and can act as a router but since you've already got the hub that's the easiest way
The colour of the cable isn't necessarily any indication as to its pinout - if you bought it from a commercial vendor it may have tags attached to confirm if it's a patch lead or a crossover cable - if you're making your own you can find the pinout on the net I'm sure
