this worked for me a few years back with old Epson Color 800 printer without usb port usb to parallel cable (generic and not Epson specific) to run it off my iMac the iMac was running as a software basestation for my home airport network and while printer sharing via airport worked under OS9 without problems it was flaky under OSX but I did get it going with gimp print drivers helping - but it wasn't great.
