G'day all,
In a bit of downtime this afternoon, I did some ego surfing (typed my
own name in google ;), and was very surprised to see the contents of
an email to this list posted on the web at openSubscriber.com!
WTF! I thought this was meant to be a subscription / members only
list, and now anyone can find my email address!
To be fair, they do "E-mail Address Obfuscation" (by converting the
email address into a picture - a process that I'm sure someone could
quite easily reverse) - so 10 points for an effort to reduce spam,
but I don't want anyone that I don't trust/like/wish to have contact
with to be able to send me unsolicited email.
Am I over reacting? How do you feel about this 'service'?
Mike 'Don't email me, I'll email you' Harris ...
